Dog Boarding FAQ

For the security of our staff & dog guests our doors are locked after reception is closed.
We do not offer facility tours at this point in time.
Respectfully we feel that allowing tours would disrupt the routine, comfort & safety of our dogs.
In the future we will be filming a full virtual tour. Keep an eye out!
Our reception desk is closed on major holidays. There are no daycare or boarding check-ins or check-outs allowed. With no exceptions.
Our boarding dogs remain on a familiar, consistent schedule. They receive lots of loving attention from the staff & regular activity throughout the day.
Closed on: New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Dogs must be at least four months of age to be welcomed in. They also must be spayed or neutered if over six months. If unaltered & over six months, private care options are available. We require a vet certificate providing proof of vaccination for Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella semi-annually, and Canine Influenza.
We are a socialized dog care facility that provides a safe, fair & fun environment for your dog.
The Meet & Greet is an in-person interview with you, a trained staff member & your pup. This is paired with a free day of daycare to help us get to know your dog.
Throughout their day we slowly introduce them to Bow Wow via genuine interaction with our staff and the other dogs they'll be playing with. We want to give them a chance to acclimate to the smells, sounds & sights inside of our facility.
Every potential dog guest goes through this evaluation process.
We strongly recommend that boarding guests be dropped off in the morning or early afternoon. It helps all daily checkin's go smoothly.
Check-out is by 12 PM.
After 12 PM pick up includes a $15 fee.
If you're unable to arrive during our set business hours, your pup will have to spend the night with us.
You can pick them up on the next business day (excluding major holidays when reception is closed).
At Bow Wow Bungalow, we pride ourselves on offering the best dog care services in the San Fernando Valley. Our highly trained and certified staff are on the premises 24/7 to make sure your dog’s stay is safe, healthy, and FUN. Plus, you can watch our Doggie Cams to check in and see what your dog is up to during the day!
We offer large suites for siblings to stay together. Call our Reservation Specialist at 818.565.3555 so we can set up your dogs’ stay.
We are happy to accommodate dogs with special needs, including medication administration, skin care treatments, and specific dietary instructions. Please be sure to discuss your dog’s needs with our Reservation Specialist when booking your dog’s stay.

Our private services allow certain dogs to play or stay with us without any dog to dog interaction. Yay!
If your dog is over 6 months and unaltered we can accommodate them.
If your dog doesn't get along well with other dogs but loves people, they are welcome here.
If your dog is people reactive & cannot be handled sadly we can't accommodate them at Bow Wow.
If your dog has prescription medications, please provide them in your dog’s respective prescription containers, along with clearly written instructions, and our staff will administer it as directed. Please read our medication policy here.
Of course! Please bag and label each meal separately. We can also provide your dog with our high quality Bow Wow Bungalow food for a small fee.
When attending daycare or boarding your dog MUST have a quick release snap collar & a legible name tag. This is crucial.
Please bring them in on a proper leash. This is for their own safety.
If you're boarding with us you may bring dog food, beds, blankets, & even a shirt of yours for a comforting scent until your return. We also allow toys, treats & bones for their enjoyment!
Should you need to change or cancel your reservations, please let us know forty-eight (48) hours in advance to avoid being charged a cancellation fee. If your reservation is within three days of a nationally recognized holiday, your reservation must be cancelled within seventy-two (72) hours to avoid a cancellation fee.

Your dog can run, jump, and play in our expansive outdoor yards with thrilling playground equipment, an enormous bone-shaped pool, and a paw-shaped spa for swimming and splashing. We also have a climate-controlled indoor yard with a lagoon, waterfalls, and tunnels. We offer a variety of engaging play groups, including traditional large group play, small group play with carefully selected playmates, toys, fun activities, and one-on-one private play with a loving caregiver. Playgroups are always supervised by our highly trained staff and selected for size, energy levels, and personality. All team members are trained using a combination of both online classes and on-the-job training to set them up for success in monitoring the health, safety, and happiness of our doggie guests. Plus, wellness checks are conducted twice a day on each dog every day.
Daycare at Bow Wow Bungalow starts with a free evaluation to determine your dog’s play style and energy level. Before coming for daycare, please keep in mind your dog should be four (4) months of age or older; spayed or neutered (if over six [6] months of age) and current on Rabies, DHLPP (Leptospirosis the “L” in some Distemper combination vaccines should be included in the annual combination vaccine due to recent increases in Leptospirosis cases. Leptospirosis needs to be boosted annually). This is important because Leptospirosis can be deadly to dogs and is transferable to humans. Bordetella vaccinations, injection has a 7-day incubation period and Intranasal has a 72-hour incubation. Given every 6-months. Canine Influenza vaccine needs to have a booster 3 weeks after the initial vaccine and then a one-week incubation period.
They should be in good general health and free of ticks and fleas, not aggressive or protective of toys, and is attending daycare wearing a quick release collar that contains an identification tag bearing their name and guardian or owner’s current contact information.
We ask that you check-in your dog at any time during our operating hours. Upon check-out, please pick up your dog during our operating hours before closing time to avoid being charged a late fee.
Our operating hours are:
- Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 7:00pm
- Saturday – Sunday from 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Holidays from 9:00am – 5:00pm

Absolutely! We offer several enriching daycare programs. Our Reservation Specialist will help customize your dog’s daycare experience and find the best program based on your dog’s interests and desires. You can also add spa treatments to your dog’s day, including a bubble bath, gentle ear cleansing, pedicure, and blueberry facial.
We are happy to accommodate dogs with special needs, such as medication administration and meal or snack preparation. Please be sure to discuss your dog’s needs with our Reservation Specialist when scheduling daycare for your dog.
